LOCKWOOD 4800 SERIES NARROW STILE PLATE FURNITURE

A slim-line, rectangular brass plate that adds style to your choice of lever.

Designed for use with Lockwood 3770/3570 Series Mortice Latches (4600/4700) and 3780/3580 Series Mortice Latches (4800/4900 Series). Additionally there are functions that are designed to work with Lockwood 3540 Series short backset mortice deadbolts.

Fixing
Plates are designed to fit back to back.
If outside plate is specified with concealed fixing, then the inside plate must be visible fixed.

Door Thickness
Fixing screws to suit door thickness between 32 and 50mm. For thicker doors longer screws and spindles are available on application.

Application
Designed for use with the Lockwood Selector & Synergy Series Mortice Latches.

When using plate configurations that feature turns, a unique mechanism is employed that automatically adjusts the length of the tail bar to suit a particular door thickness.

What makes brass so good?
Still Australian designed and made, the Lockwood range has adapted as design trends have come and gone but one thing has remained constant - the high quality brass used to make it. Whether it is for aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality or durability brass remains the ideal material for high quality door furniture.

Brass is highly durable
Brass has a low friction surface which makes it ideal for connected moving parts. This is why it is the perfect choice for producing high use door furniture that will prove durable with minimal servicing. Lockwood brass door furniture has been successfully tested to exceed the highest durability rating (D8, 500,000 cycles) under the Australian Standard (AS4145.2: 2008).

Brass is corrosion resistant
Brass door furniture provides durable performance in high corrosion applications. Unlike other commonly used materials it contains no iron so it will not rust or tea stain in high corrosion environments. Lockwood Brass Door Furniture in satin chrome brushed finish (SC) has been successfully tested under NATA conditions to maintain both function and finish under prolonged neutral salt spray test for over 1000 hours satisfying the highest ranking (C10) of the appropriate Australian Standard (AS4145.2: 2008). This result confirms that Lockwood Brass Door Furniture the ideal choice for use in coastal applications and other corrosive environments.

Brass is green
Brass is a highly machinable material making it able to be accurately manufactured with less scrap, less rework and less energy than other materials. Products made from brass generally have good "cradle-to-grave" characteristics as not only do they show good durability but brass is also readily recycled at the end of the products working life. Furthermore Lockwood Brass Door Furniture is manufactured right here in Australia so there is far less energy expended shipping product into the country and the manufacture occurs at ASSA ABLOY Australia's ISO 14001 accredited manufacturing facility.

This range takes design cues from contemporary architectural styling and complements several of Lockwood’s most popular levers to provide a harmonious look and feel throughout the home. The functionality of the Onyx range has been enhanced by the intuitive operation of the unique sliding snib and the innovative LockAlert feature that indicates the lock status at a glance.

Application

Surface mounted lockset suitable for use with most aluminium and timber sliding doors. The flexible chassis coupled with innovative design features results in a non-handed product that is extremely easy to install and suitable for new and most retrofit applications.

The new Selector® 3780 series mortice lock was designed to incorporate a greater range of lock functions into one primary lock.
In addition to industry first holdback capable lock, the Selector® 3780 series also includes an selectable anti-lockout feature.

All handing setting (Passage, Combination or Escape) can be adjusted via the hub selector located under the face plate.

Weatherstrip

The same Weatherstrip is used on both the head and sill for standard glass, aluminium and timber louvres.

Off Standard Height Galleries that are within 5mm of a Standard Height Gallery will not have a top fixed blade and will therefore require Standard Height Weatherstrip sets. Off Standard Height Galleries that are more than 5mm greater than or less than a Standard Height Gallery will have a top fixed blade and will therefore require Off Standard Height Weatherstrip sets.

Altair Weatherstrip does not require notching to accommodate the louvre gallery.

Weatherstrip, complete with seal, must be used in the head and sill to satisfy the Breezway Product Performance Warranty.

Weatherstrips to head and sill add 10mm to overall gallery height.

Altair® Louvres in Other Window Frames

Altair Louvres are also available in a wide range of window frames. Breezway has developed the Altair Louvre System so window manufacturers can install Altair Louvres within their own aluminium, timber or UPVC frames for residential and commercial applications. This provides the benefits of Altair Louvres while retaining the benefits inherent in the window manufacturers own window designs.

The Altair Louvre Component System provides a way for window manufacturers to include Altair Louvres, Weatherstrip, Powerlouvre and security bars in their window frames.

An optional backing strip can be fixed to the jambs of the outer frame which allows the Altair Louvre to be clipped in place to conceal the fixings and provide a more appealing finish.

Altair Powerlouvre in Other Frames

For projects where Powerlouvre Windows are desired in a framing system other than the Breezway Easyscreen Window System, Altair Powerlouvre Windows are available in component form.

The Altair Powerlouvre Component System can be assembled and fitted by approved fabricators into selected timber and flat aluminium frames that are wider than 65mm. Breezway Component Powerlouvre head and sill weatherstrips must be used.

Security Bar Systems

Security bars are an effective barrier when the louvre is open, that unlike screens do not reduce any air flow. Breezway has security bars available to fit 152mm (6”) blade heights with 16mm diameter solid aluminium bars fixed to the window frame to the outside of the blades and positioned to allow the window to open fully. Altair Security Bars will have a moderate effect on views with 16mm solid bars and 124mm vertical spacings between bars. Please see below the options available including Altair Louvres with Security Jamb and D Bar and Altair Louvres with U Channel Security and Round Bar.

The Altair Louvre can be integrated with our Security jamb and 16mm D bar to provide increased security and a neat finish with no visible louvre and jamb fixings.

Altair in Other Frames Standard Heights

While Altair Louvre Windows can be manufactured in any size specified, the wind and water rating for the building project will affect the maximum allowable window height and bay width. Please refer to the Altair Product Performance Warranty for technical information.

For Altair Louvre Gallery standard heights please see the size chart on the right. Off Standard heights are available but this will add cost and result in a fixed louvre blade to act as a filler piece. Stronghold® System

Strong and Safe

The Stronghold System is available as an added feature for your Altair Louvres to add strength and safety to your building.

Altair Louvre blades are retained by a pin that passes through the clips, bearing and blade. Once installed, the pins cannot be removed without tools and the blades are prevented from being removed from the clips. Pins are visible on the inside/underside of the clips.

The Stronghold System is ideal for residential or high-rise applications and is also a great option for school environments.

The Stronghold System can be screened, and offers privacy or shading options when using aluminium blades. This is well suited to wintergarden applications or outdoor residential areas. The Stronghold System also acts as a primary seal to outside noise for living or office areas.

Safeguarding Against Falls

Altair Louvre Windows with the Stronghold System and with restricted openings, comply with the new provisions in the Building Code of Australia for Fall Prevention through openable windows and have passed testing to the Australian Window Association’s industry code of practice “ICP.005 – Protection of Openable Window Testing Specification.” As the glazed area can be opened to allow airflow, they can be used to maximise natural ventilation in multi-level applications compared to other window types.

Tested to ensure Superior Performance

Altair Louvres with the Stronghold System have been tested to AS2047 “Windows in Buildings”. Static load testing to AS1170 has also been conducted to ensure superior performance on balconies, offices and external high level areas. Depending on the blade material, testing of Stronghold has achieved a load of 700N and up to 1500N in the open position.

Note: The Stronghold System is a window, not a balustrade system. Test reports are available from Breezway. It is the responsibility of the building designer to specify systems and products that meet the barrier and balustrade requirements for a building.

Maintenance
If blades need to be removed from an Altair Stronghold Louvre Window or if broken blades need to be replaced, the pins must be removed. The removal process requires tools and will destroy the pins so new pins will be required when blades are re-installed.

RAVEN DOOR SEALS

RP-2A

A nylon brush strip seal with an anodised aluminium carrier that mounts to the inside or outside of a door. It is ideal for sliding or double acting doors.
Can be concealed inside of an aluminium door suite bottom rail by the fabricator.
Used in conjunction with Raven threshold plates.

Location: Bottom of single, double, sliding and double acting doors.

Min/Max Gap: Up to 19mm (user determined).

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze anodised aluminium

rp-2b

Fixing: Self adhesive or can be screw fixed. Note: Contact surface must be clean, smooth and if painted, well cured. Self adhesive seals will not adhere to oiled or alkyd finishes or to easy clean wash and wear paint surfaces.

RP-3

A cam activated, lifting action, automatic door bottom seal. It is quick and easy to install without cutting or removing the door and uses concealed fasteners. This DIY product has been granted an Australian Design Award. Ideal for residential and light commercial applications such as motels and retirement villages.

Can be used in conjunction with Raven threshold plates.

Location: Bottom of single inward opening butt hinged doors.

Min/Max Gap: 1mm to 16mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze or bright gold anodised aluminium (15µm).

RP-5

Can be used in conjunction with Raven threshold plates.

Location: Bottom of single inward opening butt hinged doors.

RP-8SI

A concealed, automatic door bottom seal that is spring loaded to lift clear of the floor when the door is opened. It is acoustically designed, featuring silicon gaskets for medium temperature smoke and fire door applications. Operated automatically by pressure against the door jamb on its adjustable strike. RP8Si can also be fitted into the bottom rail of a metal door by the fabricator. Has a level adjustment to achieve an optimum seal.

Location: Fully morticed into a 15mm x 34mm groove into the bottom of single and double butt hinged timber and metal doors.

Min/Max Gap: 3mm to 13mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze or black anodised aluminium (15µm).

RP-10SI

An effective acoustic and smoke door stop frame seal which is quick and easy to install on plain or rebated door frames. Multi-fin design for improved noise and energy sealing. The minimum deflection design creates maximum sealing efficiency.

RP10Si can be mitred or butt jointed for a neat finish. Adjustable by large concealed fixing slots for a precision fit, RP10Si has a tamper resistant, rigid PVC cover strip (SE). Can be used on all four sides of the door to form a bulk head seal.

Note: If fixing to rebated frames of single doors, specify a long backset door latch.

Location: Head and jambs of single and double butt hinged doors.

Min/Max Gap: 0mm to 10mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze

RP-26

A heavy duty sweep seal for door bottoms of outward opening doors. Slotted fixing holes allow for adjustment all concealed behind a push in cover strip.
The RP26 is ideal for use in conjunction with Raven threshold plates.

Location: Bottom of single and double, outward opening, butt hinged doors, tilt up doors or can be used as an astragal seal.

Min/Max Gap: 5mm to 20mm (user determined).

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze anodised

RP-38SI

A heavy duty, automatic door bottom seal that is spring loaded to lift clear of the floor when the door is opened. It is self levelling and reversible for left and right handed operation. Acoustically designed, it features a silicon gasket for medium temperature smoke and fire door applications. Doubles as a kick plate when semi-morticed. Operated automatically by pressure against the door jamb or stop on its adjustable brass strike.

Location: Face mounted or semi-morticed into bottom of single and double butt hinged doors. For semi-mortice minimum door thickness of 50mm for rebated meeting stiles and 40mm for plain meeting stiles is required. Can be face mounted to the bottom of metal doors.

Min/Max Gap: 3mm to 13mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze anodised

RP-77

A heavy duty threshold ramp with a ribbed design which can be positioned back to back to form a two way threshold ramp conforming to NCC Pt. D2.15 Thresholds (b).

Can be used in conjunction with Raven door bottom seals to prevent rain, draughts, noise and smoke infiltration. Suitable for use with most floor pivots.

Ideal for commercial shop fronts providing a neat ramp detail between carpets or tiles at door ways.

Can also be used to provide a ramped frame for internal door mats.

Location: Door sill.

Finish: Satin clear (silver) or bronze anodised aluminium (25µm).

RP-16SI

RP16Si is an acoustic, smoke astragal. Its proven design is effective in sealing the meeting stiles of plain or rebated double doors. Its aluminium trim neatly conceals the sealing portion of the seal and provides a secure weatherproof rebate stop. If necessary, its aluminium fixing leg can be checked out to allow for locks and latches.

For maximum acoustic performance, specify two seals, i.e. one for each door leaf. (Minimum door thickness subject to centre latch and dimensions of morticed door bottom seals).

RP16Si is used where one door leaf is active. For smoke door magnetic hold open applications such as hospital corridors, sequence select door closers are required.

Location: Meeting stiles of double butt hinged doors.

Min/Max Gap: 2.5mm to 8mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver), bronze

RP-89

A rigid and flexible co-polymer weather and energy seal. RP89 suits leading proprietary brand, hollow channel aluminium door suites. Concealed in the bottom of aluminium butt hinged doors or the bottom and head of pivot doors, RP89’s unique design accommodates OEM and retrofit applications.

When used in conjunction with a Raven threshold plate an excellent weather and energy seal is achieved.

Location: Bottom or top of 40-45mm hollow channel aluminium doors. Suits butt hinged and pivot hinged systems. Sliding doors (user determined).

Min/Max Gap: 6mm to 9mm.
Note: A Raven threshold plate is recommended to clear floor surface.

Fixing: Snap fit design with end support lugs and screws supplied.

Seal: Black rigid and grey flexible UV stabilised co-polymer.

RP-35

An adjustable, automatic door bottom seal that is spring loaded to lift clear of the floor when the door is opened. It is acoustically designed, featuring silicon gaskets for medium temperature smoke and fire door applications. Operated automatically by pressure against the door jamb or stop on its adjustable strike.

Location: Face mounted or semi-morticed into the bottom of solid core single and double butt hinged doors. The RP35Si can also be face mounted to the bottom of metal doors.

Min/Max Gap: 3mm to 13mm.

Finish: Satin clear (silver) or bronze anodised aluminium (15µm).

Fixing: Concealed screw fix. Zinc plated, cross recess head S.T. screws, colour matched escutcheon plates and cover strip supplied. Fixing holes are pre-slotted.

Seal: RP308Si. Grey silicon rubber (SE).

Sizes: 1220mm, 1070mm, 920mm, 820mm, 600mm, 380mm to 295mm(min). Seals cut back to exact size
